Providence began 17+ years ago as cabinetmakers. We offer freestanding furniture that includes differents styles of kitchen dresser, larder cupboards, linen presses and wardrobes. We construct in pine and oak, in New England, Shaker style. We paint furniture in our own Providence Paint and we also use paints from the Farrow & Ball range.

We're cabinetmakers with a Shaker influence. Our work was originally inspired by simple Colonial pieces that we've seen in New England. We incorpate shaker pegs, and knobs as drawer pulls in the kitchen dressers, larders and linen presses and other pieces that we make.
We also make Shaker rails and shelves.
Our shop is located at Burwash Manor in Barton, just outside Cambridge,
England. When you visit, you'll find examples of our freestanding cabinetry
including dressers, linen presses, larders and chests of drawers.
We also have a selection of the Shaker rails, shelves, cabinet hardware
and Shaker knobs, braided baskets, rugs, wirework, paint and other finishing
products for sale at our shop.
On the web you can have a look at our blog, Providence
News. It's the place for news from our shop about our developing paint
range, quick pics from our workshop and tips on cabinetmaking, painting
and finishing.
